My sister has always been wanting to eat at Vegan Burg with me, so we finally found the time to travel to Eunos where the only outlet is located at.

Some background information, my sister is a flexitarian - follows a vegetarian diet and occasionally fish and meat, and has somehow convinced me to be pescatarian - consumes fish but not red meat, in the past. Since I wasn't a meat lover and it was for a good reason, I decided to follow her. For a period of time back in Secondary school, I would be pescatarian for only 1 day because I wanted to slowly be familiarized with the diet. But it was rather difficult because I would usually forget or subconsciously purchase and consume a meal that already comes with meat, and only realise halfway while eating. I'm also a person that doesn't have much commitment, hence I stopped having a pescatarian diet after awhile. But at least I tried right? Hahah.

My sister is also quite an adventurous person, she goes around SG and sometimes overseas, to try their healthy meals and food recipes. She also has a platform where she shares her experiences and the recipes she has tried. Check her out if you are interested! https://www.instagram.com/me.gi_/

Back to the main point of this post, along with another 2 friends, we each bought a student meal from $9.90, which comes with a side and a drink. For the side, we could choose between seaweed fries or seasoned broccoli. For the drink, there were lemon barley, ginger lemonade and orange juice, with a one time refill. I thought it was really nice that they would offer healthy options for the sides and drinks.

Chili crab burger with seaweed fries

For the main, I would say that they serve a really unique range of burgers, which is why I think Vegan Burg stands out from other vegan/vegetarian restaurants. I ordered the Chili crab burger ($12.90), my friend ordered the Char-grilled satay burger ($11.90) and my sister and her friend ordered the Creamy shrooms burger ($10.90). We all shared the burgers to try the different flavours and my favourite was the Chili crab burger. The chili crab sauce tasted exactly like how it should be and the texture of the patty felt pretty legit! While I felt like the patty of the Char-grilled satay burger was a little powdery which i didn't like, however the sauce still tasted peanutty and nice. There were also more ingredients in the Char-grilled satay burger, like onions, pineapples and cucumbers, which gave it a refreshing taste, like how satay should be served.

Creamy shrooms with seasoned broccoli

Despite not being a fan of cream and mushrooms, their Creamy shrooms burger really surprised me, which was probably the reason why it was one of their best selling burgers. The mushrooms sauce was rich and thick, almost like eating dipped bread in mushroom soup. I think I like cream and mushrooms now hahaha. Moving on to the sides, I thought that it was more worth it to get the seaweed fries than the broccoli, as they were pretty generous with the amount of fries. Whereas for the broccoli, they only gave a pitiful amount of broccoli and it was steamed with only a little amount of seasoning, although I was hoping that it would be air-fried. My sister also mentioned that the previous time she ordered, the broccoli was not seasoned. So my advise is to just order the seaweed fries and to just steam your own broccoli at home hahah.

Overall, I would say that the range of burgers they serve are really interesting and there are even seasonal burgers available. Especially how this is a vegan restaurant, i'm pretty sure that you can't find these ethnic flavoured vegan burger anywhere else. I have also read online that there are so many benefits in the ingredients of each burger. Not only do they serve delicious meals, they also make sure that they are healthy as well. For price wise, depending on the burger, it is rather pricy. But for a vegan and healthy meal, I think it is pretty reasonable. Plus, their burgers are also pretty huge so I will advise to share if you are not a big eater. Apart from their food, I also like the ambience because of how photogenic the place is. Sadly, I was too full to order the side dishes that they serve, but the next time I visit, I'll be sure to try the other burgers, as well as the side dishes!
