malacca trip
vlog 4

I went on an impromptu trip to Malacca with my family! Although it was a short trip, I still wanted to vlog down the little parts of our trip. We spent most of our time along Jonker Walk, which really reminded me of our Chinatown in SG. I also highly recommend trying The Daily Fix cafe (also recommended by my mom - she loves cafes), which I feel is a hidden gem along Jonker Street (like really hidden). Apart from their nice ambience, they serve really delicious & cheap dishes (they also offer vegetarian options!). I ordered their smoked chicken sandwich which came with a side of salad and potato wedges, for RM17.50 = SGD$5.80!! I really doubt you can find any cafes in SG that sells dishes this cheap! Besides, I shared this with my sister because it was really filling, but overall really satisfying.

taiwan trip
vlog 3
This time, I went to Taipei, Taiwan with my teachers & friends for a school Mathematics trip. To be honest, this felt more like a vacation with my friends rather than a school trip, because we barely did anything related to math hahaha. The only part I remembered was when we went to a high school in Taiwan to learn additional math with the Taiwanese students, and to know what it's like being a student there. It was pretty interesting because their education system and school was so different and old school style.

Other than that, we went to many hotspots such as Taipei 101, Raohe St. night market, Jiufen & Shifen old street, Gold museum, Yehliu Geological park, an amusement park, and many many waterfalls such as Shilin waterfall. Not leaving out the fact that we were brought to the toilet restaurant to have lunch hahaha. Going to the night market was my favourite because there were arcade machines that costed SGD$0.70 each try and my friends and I actually won a few soft toys hehe. But it was a regret that I spent way too much time at the arcade, because I ended up not having enough time to try some of the street food (ugh ikr). Overall, the most memorable part was writing our wishes on the lantern and releasing the sky lanterns at the old railway track in Shifen. Because we were in a tour group, we had a bus to take us to all the locations. I think one of my fondest memories was being in the bus ride with my friends, playing music and talking, because the ride would take hours, like literally really really long hours to take us up and down the mountains. Oh and also, on our first night, we actually stayed in the "villages" up in the mountains and I thought it was a pretty cool experience! The road up to the village was so steep that we had to get down from the bus to walk and push our luggages up the hills. It was wild man.
bangkok trip
vlog 2

Finally after a few years, my family & I were able to go on a family trip together to Bangkok (BKK). This trip mainly consists of shopping, eating, and more shopping hahaha. We stayed in the Berkeley Hotel, which is popular for its location, being close to the famous Platinum mall, Pratunam night market, Big C supermart, Central mall and more (at that time I was staying there, my other 3 friends were also staying at the same hotel haha). From our hotel, we could easily take the BTS skytrain to Siam Paragon and Chatuchak market. I recommend trying The GreyHound Cafe at Siam Paragon (also recommended by my mom - she loves cafes), for its interesting dishes that they serve. Although the cafe can also be found in SG, the one in BKK is cheaper & there are less queue! Here's our best find in BKK during that trip, After You dessert cafe. No dessert cafe can top that because they serve really affordable and flavourful kakigori (Japanese shaved ice, somewhat like bingsu). We ate there 3 times during that 5 days in BKK and my dad loved it so much that he wanted to have breakfast there hahaha. We went there so often that we got to try 6 different desserts - kakigori, pancakes & toast, and of which my favourite is the thai tea kakigori for 225 thai baht = SGD$10.20. Not forgetting how good their thai iced tea is for only about SGD$1.50, that can be found at almost every coffee shop in BKK. And of course, we couldn't miss out on the Chatuchak weekend market, which is the largest market in BKK. Although my sisters & I didn't find anything to buy there, it was still a nice experience going there.
